Asset Retention and Growth

Your Challenge

Understanding the dynamics of shareholder behavior is a daunting task. Better understanding the drivers behind investment decisions enables the fund company to better position their product offerings and or potentially influence future trading patterns of shareholders.

In most cases, mutual fund shareholders redeem shares either because they have an immediate liquidity need or they perceive other securities offer a better investment opportunity. Many of the shareholders who redeem for investment reasons redeem nearly all of their shares, but later repurchase shares in the original fund family. Currently, relationship managers are unable to identify this subset of shareholders.

Our Solution

By using Synterein’s state-of-the-art analytics historical shareholder purchase and redemption activity can be analyzed at the fund and account level in order to identify loyal shareholders who redeem for investment reasons but later repurchase shares in the fund family. As a result, relationship managers are enabled to identify loyal shareholders and take proactive steps, such as offering fund alternatives, to retain their assets or to accelerate their share repurchases.
